Location and Floor Plan

503 Kalmia is located 5 houses east of 4th Street on Kalmia.  4th Street is a street active with bikers, runners, joggers and walkers.  (4th Street runs along the Foothills and there is no 3rd Street)  Hiking trails along the Foothills and  up to Sinitas Trail are 3 blocks from the house.

4th Street runs into Pearl Street (Downtown Boulder’s walking mall) 1.2 miles from Kalmia.
Vic’s Coffee, Ideal Market (owned by Whole Foods), Rada (a great Italian restaurant, Bread Works and the wine shop are 1/4 mile away.

The 5,000 sq.ft. ranch style home (3,000 main floor, 2,000 basement) sits on a 1/2 acre flag lot.  The original lot was 1 acre, and our house is the rear house with a long 440 ft. gated driveway.  The Silver Creek ditch runs along the edge of the back yard in the summer from 6am to 6pm.  Twice a week from 6am to 10am, we divert the water to water the more than 70 huge pine trees and luscous gardens that surround the property.  The property directly behind is 10 acres of wild grasses and sees deer grazing daily.  (We did have a momma bear and her 2 cubs climbing trees there in September.)

While we have updated the carpeting and flooring, we have not yet updated the kitchen or cabinets.  The kitchen is due for a remoldel.  (just to be honest)

There are high 14ft. vaulted ceilings in almost every room.
